First Stage of the Seawater Desalination Plant in Tseung Kwan, Hongkong
The Seawater Desalination Plant in Tseung Kwan, will be the first one of its kind in Hong Kong to provide the mega city with an alternative water resource. Siam Minerals provided polymers and bentonite for this massive pipe jacking project.
After finishing the landbased constructions, the Pipe Jacking works for the pipelines of the desalination plant proceeded under the sea bed. We supplied our salt-resistant bentonite TIXOBENT SW and polymer BMS 500 to support the drilling operations of 600 meters with the most suitable and efficient drilling fluid system. BMS 500 is a clay inhibitor and lubricant, that allows drilling with seawater-based drilling fluids.
