Reflecting a Year of Milestones: Our Journey in 2023

As 2024 unfolds, we want to take some time to reflect on the remarkable milestones achieved throughout the past year. From expanding our team to introducing innovative products, each accomplishment represents a step forward for us as a rapidly expanding drilling fluid supplier.

March 2023 - Expansion of our Product Portfolio with Foundry Bentonites

March was a significant month for us as we celebrated the opening of our second office in Indonesia. This expansion not only signifies our growing presence in the South East Asian region but also underscores our dedication to better serving our valued clients. Additionally, Siam Minerals did successfully launch a new product line for the foundry industry. It was a strategic move that broadened our product portfolio for industrial minerals, further solidifying our position as a leading bentonite supplier in the South East Asian market.

May 2023 - Engaging with Industry Experts and new clients at Trenchless Asia in Kuala Lumpur

The first time after a long break Trenchless Asia was holding a new event in May to bring together those at the forefront of trenchless technique innovations. The Trenchless Asia exhibition was an excellent platform to showcase our latest products and innovations for Pipe Jacking and Direct Pipe operations to an international audience. Our sales manager from Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore connected with industry experts and new clients to stay ahead of the latest trends shaping our industry.

June 2023 - Success for polymer-based drilling fluids in Thailand

In June, we achieved a significant milestone as our BOREPOL series was supplied for the first time to provide 100% polymer-based support fluids for a bore pile project in Thailand. Building on the success of its introduction in Indonesia the previous year, this accomplishment highlights our success in establishing our polymer BOREPOL series across the Southeast Asian market. Despite being introduced to the global market over six decades ago, contractors still hesitate to purely rely on polymer slurry for stabilization of Bore Piles and Diaphragm Walls. Through extensive research, lab testing, and successful field applications, we have proven that polymer fluids offer various advantages over bentonite support fluids, including improved foundation performance, lower environmental impacts, smaller site footprint, and increased economics.

September 2023 - Expansion of our Product Portfolio with Bleaching Earth

September marked a pivotal moment as we successfully underwent an audit for bleaching earth, paving the way for its introduction into the oil refinery sector in Thailand.

Looking back at a successful year 2023

By December 2023, we had supplied bentonite and polymer support fluids to a total of 180 drilling projects in Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Singapore. Each project represents a unique opportunity for us to demonstrate our expertise, reliability, and commitment to quality drilling fluid systems and services.

Siam Minerals Expands to Singapore

Siam Minerals will be opening a sales office in July 2019 in the city-state to cater to its growing demand for high-quality drilling muds, adding to the firm’s regional footprint that already covers Thailand and Indonesia.

Singapore’s construction industry is set to grow by 3.3% per annum from 2019 to 2028, spurred by megaprojects in the transport sector, according to research by Fitch Solutions. These projects include the Thomson-East Coast Line, Changi Terminal 5, and the new Tuas Mega Port.

“Projects in the pipeline over the next decade are expected to spur demand for construction and related services, so we’re looking forward to bringing our support and expertise to the market,” Siam Minerals managing director Alexander Landau said.
