We are proud to contribute to the success of the 9th Bangkok Water Supply Improvement Project by supplying our premium bentonite product, TIXOBENT SQ, to support the construction of a major water transmission tunnel beneath the city. This essential infrastructure project involves the excavation of a 5.3-kilometer-long tunnel with a diameter of 3.8 meters, forming a critical part of Bangkok’s efforts to expand and upgrade its urban water distribution network.
TIXOBENT SQ, a specially formulated bentonite grade, was selected for this project due to its superior performance characteristics, particularly in Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) tunneling applications. It was used as a key component in the backfill grout mixture, where its rheological stability, excellent lubricating properties, and low filtration loss contributed to smooth and efficient tunneling operations throughout the challenging underground environment.
