Kulon Progo HDD crossing in Yogyakarta
HDD in Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Bentonite mud system for Horizontal Direction Drilling Project in Yogyakarta, Indonesia
A total of 6 HDD crossings could successfully be completed at the Kulon Progo project in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. As a selected bentonite supplier, our mud engineer team addressed the challenges posed by the highly reactive clay in this project with a bentonite slurry combined with encapsulating polymers. Our mud formulation featured our high-performance bentonite TIXOBENT SF4 and SIM LIQPOL, a borehole stabilizer. This solution effectively prevented the expansion of the reactive soft clay and significantly enhanced lubricity, leading to a reduction in torque and drag forces.
All 6 HDD crossings were completed successfully without any issues.
